ChatGPT with GPT-6 now answers with charts, buttons and forms
With Intelligent UI, ChatGPT moves past plain text, which changes every request that used to end in a long block of paragraphs.
ChatGPT no longer answers in plain text alone: with GPT-6, it builds charts, buttons and forms straight into its replies. OpenAI calls the new interface Intelligent UI. TechCrunch and MacRumors reported on it on October 7, 2026, and the coverage describes it as open to all users.
What we know
The interface ships with GPT-6. The Verge and The Decoder treat the two as one package. The new model arrives in ChatGPT, and the shape of an answer changes with it.
A reply can now carry interactive elements instead of a single block of text. The reports name three:
- Charts that show numbers or relationships visually
- Buttons that let you click straight to a next step
- Forms you can fill in with your details
The Decoder calls it an interactive interface. TechCrunch says ChatGPT is getting a lot more visual. Both point to the same shift. The model now picks the format of an answer, not just its content.
The reports appeared on October 7, 2026. They present the feature as broadly available rather than as a limited test for a small group.
Why it matters
Until now, a ChatGPT answer was text at its core. Tables, lists and code blocks gave it structure. But if you needed a comparison, a choice or several inputs, you read paragraphs and typed the next question yourself.
Intelligent UI targets that gap. A chart shows a comparison in one view where several sentences used to do the job. A button replaces a typed follow-up prompt. A form collects details in one step instead of across several messages. The pitch is less about a smarter model and more about a shorter path to a usable answer.
Whether that actually saves time depends on how well the model picks the right format. A chart where one sentence would do costs time instead of saving it. For users, the immediate change is how answers feel. Repeated tasks such as comparisons and planning are where the difference should show most.
What's still open
The available reporting does not say whether Intelligent UI can be switched off or whether every subscription tier gets the same features. It is also unclear whether the web version and the apps switch over at the same time, and what else GPT-6 changes compared with its predecessor.
