What we know

Microsoft showed the new hardware alongside a revamped Windows 11. Nvidia's pitch for RTX Spark centers on running AI locally. Microsoft frames the software side as an agentic Windows desktop.

The Surface Laptop Ultra is Microsoft's own laptop on the platform. The base configuration costs $2,599.

Microsoft also sells the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a machine for developers. It costs $6,000 and is open for preorder now.

Partner pricing is out too:

  • MSI: the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ C1XMT starts at €3,449.
  • Asus: on the ProArt P14 and P16, the 64GB model costs less than the 32GB model.
  • Top configurations across vendors: up to $7,000.

Games are part of the launch. Hundreds of titles support RTX Spark from day one. Call of Duty is missing. The series is not expected on the platform until 2027.

Why it matters

The price range defines the audience. A $2,599 entry point and flagships at $7,000 sit far above what a typical gaming or office laptop costs. Nvidia and Microsoft are selling local AI on a laptop, and at these prices the buyers are creators, developers and companies.

The $6,000 Dev Box points the same way. It is not a consumer product. It is a tool for developers who need to build software for the new platform before the wider rollout.

Asus pricing is the odd one out. A model with more memory costing less suggests the configurations differ in more than RAM alone.

For players, the picture is mixed. Hundreds of games at launch give the platform a base. Waiting until 2027 for one of the most played series is a visible gap.

What's still unclear

The available sources do not give official euro prices for the Surface Laptop Ultra or the Dev Box, and they do not name a shipping date for the laptops. It is also unclear which other games are missing at launch and why Call of Duty only follows in 2027. The full spec differences between the Asus models are not broken down.
